Featuring special guest, the legendary DJ Dr. Bob Jones who will play an exclusive Dancefloor Jazz set and host DJ Perry Louis who, together with the JazzCotech crew has been spearheading the UK Dancefloor Jazz scene for 22 years. Together, they will be sharing their passion of all things Dancefloor Jazz, so come to party!
Dr. Bob Jones was one of the first DJs to be accredited with playing Dancefloor Jazz in the UK, as far back as in 1971. Since then, he has DJd in clubs and venues all over the world, including the world's first ever Soul and Jazz Dance Weekender at Caister in Norfolk in '79 and the first ever Southport Dance Weekender in '87.
Over the last 20 years, Bob has compiled albums and written sleeve notes for various major record labels in the field of Black Music, including Sony/Epic Records in Japan. Bob compiled a 90s Soul LP for Beechwood Music, the company responsible for the highly successful Mastercuts LP series, and has put together the immensely successful Soul Spectrum (with Keb Darge), as well as Jazz Spectrum albums for the BBE label. Finally, he has compiled the 'Inspirational Dance' LP for Slip n Slide Records.
His DJ activities have earned him the highest reputation as working across tne globe, Tokyo, Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallin, Ottowa & Toronto, a residency in Soulsides in Cork, and making regular appearances in Finland, Germany, Sweden and Norway. His enthusiasm for quality, Dancefloor music still takes him across the globe and we are very privileged indeed to feature hm at Shiftless Shuffle, playing an exclusive Dancefloor Jazz set.
