60th Birthday celebration for the Welsh pianist/composer, bringing together two of his jazz projects: His Quintet's recent set of arrangements of Kenny Garrett material (by Andy Hague), and a new set of arrangements for Quintet of Dave's older compositions for Quartet. The tour includes a date at Pizza Express Jazz Club (Soho) in London, which the Quintet sold out in 2023 when recording their live album, which has now been pressed for the 2nd time. Dave will be joined by Andy Hague (trumpet, flugelhorn), Daniel Newberry (saxes, flute), Nick Kacal (bass), and Mark Whitlam (drums). Besides composing for his jazz ensembles, Dave also composes music for TV, and has had numerous placements of tracks in productions in the US ('The Big Bang Theory', 'The Today Show', The US Open Golf Tournament), in Japan (NHK news and current affairs), and the UK ('University Challenge', 'Location, Location, Location', 'Alan Carr's Adventures with Agatha Christie', and many others). "Scintillating horn interplay that mixed fire with subtlety, qualities that Jones also brought to a sparkling piano solo" (JazzMann, live review 2023). "Solid and deep-delving swing, especially when the band switched straight into fifth gear, as on 'Chief Blackwater' " (Jazz Journal, live review 2023).

Line Up: Dave Jones - piano, Andy Hague - trumpet, Daniel Newberry - tenor, soprano and flute, Nick Kacal - bass & Mark Whitlam - drums
