Description

Bearwood Promoters bring you the third in our series of monthly live music nights, Bear Grooves, with live, loud and local music back at the legendary Bear Tavern!

Celebrating International Women's Day with us are headliners MeMe Detroit, with support from Glass Ceilings. Two amazing bands, fronted by women.

MeMe Detroit are a Birmingham based British/Colombian Latina three piece combining sleazy grit rock grunge and power indie. "If you like your sleazy grunge guitar-style bangers laden with riffs and a whole lot of melody, then that's us…"

The band consists of MeMe on vocals, guitars, bass and synth and Kallum McEwen on drums. With over 200 gigs under their belt, they have become known for their high octane, fully-immersive shows. 2018/2019 single releases 'Get Down on With Me', 'Churchside Inn', 'De Moe' and 'Will You Be My Lie' (taken from the 'Life In The Now' EP) have all been championed by BBC Introducing and have landed regular airtime on Kerrang! Radio.

Support comes from four-piece Glass Ceilings, "light-hearted indie sweetness" that "carry so much promise" and have been recognised as one of the rising stars at the 2020 Birmingham Music Awards.

Each month Bear Grooves will see new bands and old friends returning to Bearwood, bringing you the best in local and touring music. With help from the Arts Council England we're supporting the live grassroots music scene, make sure you do too!
